Illumina's GoldenGate Methylation Assay combines high sample throughput, high multiplexing, and single-site CpG resolution for DNA methylation profiling. The Assay can be used to simultaneously analyze the methylation status of up to 1,536 independent CpG sties per assay.
The 96-sample Universal Array Matrix (SAM) is used in the hybridization step of the GoldenGate Methylation Assay. Instead of gene-specific sequences, it contains universal sequences or addresses that hybridize to complementary sequences in the prepared sample.

The GoldenGate Methylation Assay requires use of a DNA Activation Kit, GoldenGate Assay Kit, Oligo Pool for Methylation Assay (OMA), and Methylation Universal Array.
