The DNA Test Panel contains 360 SNP loci that can be used for pre-screening DNA samples for assay performance before conducting studies with larger numbers of loci. This panel contains neutral loci chosen outside of RefSeq transcripts and evoluctionarily conserved sequences that may be used as a genomic control. It also contains Ancestry Informative Markers (AIMs) chosen from three populations that may be used to assess potential stratification in study samples.

Applications
Focused Genotyping
Focused genotyping supports a variety of applications such as candidate-gene studies in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and admixture mapping. Illumina also works closely with major animal consortia to develop genome-wide genotyping products for non-human organisms, including both animal and plant species.
